Utilizing Natural Systems
Maximize the use of natural systems to restore and protect our coast.
- Support river diversions, both natural crevasses and engineered.
- Support and prioritize sustainable solutions utilizing natural materials and living shorelines.
- Support beneficial use dredging policies.
- Support the restoration of natural hydrologic processes to keep freshwater and saltwater in balance with ecological health.
- Support policies that encourage the incorporation of Traditional Ecological Knowledge
when appropriate.
Coastal Conservation
Minimize additional harm to Louisiana wetlands.
- Support protections for existing wetlands.
- Support mitigation policies that encourage in-basin restoration and consider our coast’s overall ecology.
