CRCL’s Restoration headquarters

CRCL’s Restoration Headquarters opened its gates officially in 2021. This space has been continuously evolving ever since. Located in St. Bernard Parish right along the Violet Canal, CRCL’s Restoration HQ hosts a range of public and group volunteer events to engage the community in boots-on-the-ground coastal restoration efforts.

Native Plants Program

In 2022, CRCL began growing bald cypress and mangroves from seed at our Restoration Headquarters in St. Bernard Parish. We are now growing hundreds of trees on site. We host seasonal seed drives, where you can deliver your locally-harvested seeds to be propagated and planted along Louisiana’s Coast.

Oyster Shell Recycling

CRCL’s Restoration HQ is where we host oyster shell recycling events to prepare shell for future reef builds and engage local stakeholders on the benefits of oyster shell recycling.

Student Engagement

CRCL’s Future Coastal Leaders program hosts an annual student field trip, which includes a stop at CRCL’s Restoration Headquarters and a volunteer activity.

The Future Coastal Leaders are encouraged to attend as many volunteer events as possible throughout the year.

We regularly host class field trips at the Restoration HQ. Students learn about coastal erosion and take part in hands-on solutions. Contact CRCL to schedule a trip for your class!

General site Maintenance

Join a volunteer event to help with general site upkeep. As a volunteer, you will work with our staff to help maintain our native plant nursery, prep for our upcoming reef build project and make general site improvements as our site grows. Have a special skill or tool that could contribute to the site? Let us know! We are open to any ideas for site improvements.

How to get involved:

As an individual, you can join an upcoming volunteer event hosted at the Restoration HQ. If you know a group interested in volunteering with CRCL, contact volunteers@crcl.org.
