Native Plants Program

Founded in 2000, CRCL’s Native Plants Program engages volunteers and stakeholders in restoring Louisiana’s coastal habitats while fostering environmental stewardship and educating participants about the causes and solutions to coastal land loss.

Highlights

39 events engaging 929 volunteers

15,914 native plants planted across 37.4 acres

Oyster Shell Recycling Program

CRCL’s education programs, the Coastal Leadership Institute and Future Coastal Leaders, empower participants to learn from experts, explore the front lines of the land loss crisis and collaborate to build a thriving, sustainable coast.

Highlights

665.16 tons of shell recycled, protecting 8,400 feet of coastline

Built the 6th oyster reef in Grand Bayou Indian Village, Plaquemines Parish

Expanded recycling to Baton Rouge and supported restaurants with new tax credits

Engaged over 1,300 volunteers

Coastal Leaders Education

CRCL’s education programs, the Coastal Leadership Institute and Future Coastal Leaders, empower participants to learn from experts, explore the front lines of the land loss crisis and collaborate to build a thriving, sustainable coast.
