Save Our Shore: Volunteer for the Coast & Volunteer Appreciation Celebration with Abita Beer and CRCL
The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) and Abita Beer invite you to participate in a two day “Save Our Shore: Volunteer for the Coast,” event on Grand Isle, LA. Hurricane Isaac’s impact last August washed away many of the dunes along the barrier islands in southeast Louisiana. This habitat provides critical protection to the wetlands and the surrounding communities. This storm was just the latest hit that this region has taken, having sustained prior damage from 2011’s Tropical Storm Lee and the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Disaster.
Help us save this important stretch of Louisiana’s coast by volunteering to construct 1 mile of dune fence and plant thousands of dune grasses on March 1st and/or 2nd.
To thank you for volunteering, we are also inviting you to stay for the CRCL and Abita Beer SOS: Volunteer Appreciation Party happening immediately after each day’s restoration activity. Come help us celebrate the work you did as well as Louisiana’s ties to our coast, culture, food and love of life with fresh seafood, BBQ, live music, games and Abita products (beer and root beer) – FREE for all who volunteered! It’s a great way to celebrate what’s best about Louisiana after doing your part to save our coast.
Sign up below for one or both days, and tell your friends to volunteer! The more the merrier!
