Coalition To Restore Coastal Louisiana

Citizens Working to Protect and Restore a Sustainable Coastal Louisiana

Bringing Nature Back II
On Saturday, January 16th the Coalition To Restore Coastal Louisiana partnered with Entergy Corporation, Restore America's Estuaries, Audubon Nature Institute, RPM Ecosystems and Natural Resource Conservation Service to plant approximately 500 pots of various species of wetland trees, including bald cypress, red maple and pecan.

Prior to 2005 Audubon Louisiana Nature Center was named one of the top five urban nature centers in the United States.  The Nature Center suffered considerable damage from Hurricane Katrina which devastated its interpretive center, exhibits and an approximately 75 percent of the forest.  This work was a very important step toward restoring the wetland forest to its former state.
